I have been selling and buying vintage jewelry for years. I look in the stores too, noticing the latest styles. What are a few things I look for?

Well, if they have rhinestones. How are they attached? Prong set will last a life type rather than glued. But if you like a piece. Do not fret. There are some people that sell different sizes online and a little G-S cement and your all fixed. I look to see how the piece closes. Bracelet. Does is snap back well? Well, I have several Sarah Coventry from the 60's that do. I see some in the stores that don't make it to the shelf sorry to say. Does the piece have glass beads or plastic. May not seem like a big deal. But glass holds the color and beauty. Whereas plastic cracks and flakes. In a ring. Adjustable is nice for costume. But a lovely piece with timeless designs and colors will go on forever and never go out of style. Some like gold. I'm a lover of silver. Silver cleans nice. Nothing so beautiful as me getting a silver piece, dipping it in cleaner ,and seeing a beautiful work of art. But that's my opinion. I hope this helps some on your next shopping trip for vintage or costume jewelry in today's world. Blessings, Sewgood
